Responsibilities within the role are listed below, but in short you will be in charge of running and optimising the forecasting, procurement planning, and inventory levels for operations in EMEA (including South Africa);with the aim of successfully providing excellent product availability whilst keeping working capital levels to a minimum.
You will be responsible for:
• The accuracy and management of the process for Sales Forecasting across EMEA in conjunction with sales & marketing departments.
• Managing the inventory procurement process for the Distribution Centres in EMEA.
• Inventory control - reporting, action planning, and communication.
• Customer Service levels - maintaining the balance between service and inventory.
• Team development.
• Systems development projects.
Who we're looking for
• Education: Degree, preferably in Business related subject
• Experience of Forecasting, Inventory Control & Logistics
• Extensive use of planning, forecasting and stock control systems, as well as advanced excel skills
• Experience in line management in a Supply Chain function
• Your supply chain understanding is likely to come from a trend / seasonal driven, business-to-business environment, ideally with experience in sports / fashion / textiles
• You will be a goal orientated individual, with a strong drive to deliver process improvements.
• This is a work place where commitment is key, so the ability to naturally fit in to the culture will be a distinct advantage
• Your first challenge will be to understand the systems, product and people, with little supervision, so we are looking for the 'complete package' to 'hit the ground running'
About our client
The Acushnet business includes; Golf Balls, Golf Clubs, Footwear, Gloves, Apparel and Accessories. Acushnet Europe Ltd heads the EMEA region as part of the global Acushnet Group which has its Head Quarters near Boston in the USA. Trade covers most countries in Europe, the largest markets being UK, France, Germany and Sweden, which are served from 2 distribution centres in UK and Holland. The apparel market is a new venture for Acushnet and as such the person coming in will have a large say in its success.
Products are centrally sourced and brought in from over seas on long lead times, with large numbers of SKUs and very high volumes; this is a complex distribution environment. Coupled with a highly seasonal product and an ever changing product range, someone who is up for a challenge will be essential to successfully fill this role.
