The role of Tax Director for my client's business in the Isle of Man provides the unique combination of technical direct tax responsibilities and business development. This is a role that has arisen by natural growth of the company and, as such, it will have 3 key parts: business development; providing in-house tax support to the business; and the provision of technical tax advice.
In addition, key accountabilities will include:
- Providing technical direct taxation support to the businesses key functions.
- Supporting the Business Development Director in executing the BD strategy by proactively developing relationships with both existing and new contacts.
- Identifying market trends in the core are of trusts and offshore services and recommend adjustments to the business' marketing plans to optimise revenues, margins and market share.
- Deliver new business propositions and support senior staff 'pitching' for new business.
- Producing one topical tax development commentary per month that could be used by the business development team when winning new business.

Who we're looking for
The successful Tax Director will:
- Have a proven track record providing direct taxation advice
- Ideally come from a Big4 background.
- Hold relevant professional qualification (CTA).
- Ideally have had previous exposure to business development.
