As the Senior Recruitment Consultant, you will be responsible for either a Permanent or Temporary desk, depending on your background and skill-set. You will be working in a team that recruits IT roles across London & Kent in the Industry & Commerce space. Whichever desk you are given will be both warm and cold. This is due to the pure size of our market focus. Therefore, you will be in a position to pick up some industries that already have traction, whilst at the same time putting your stamp on others that have little.

Michael Page Technology is one of the fastest growing divisions in Michael Page and as a result career opportunities are rife. Regarding the London & Kent IT Industry & Commerce team, there is legitimate scope to fast-track your career into management; if you can deliver quickly and successfully. The team is 5 people strong to-date with a target of doubling in 2012 and splitting the team when the time is right. This means that a second-in-charge is required to work alongside the Manager and push the team forward from a revenue and profitability perspective.

The role of a Senior Recruitment Consultant is to display consistency in everything they do. This stretches across quarterly billings, delivering on responsibilities, mentorship and being a 'safe pair of hands', as well as upholding good business morals.

Operationally you will be expected to meet quarterly billing targets and day-to-day KPIs. It will be expected that you already have a solid grip on the transactional element of the job, in the form of making placements and everything that goes along with it. However, a key focus will be on your business development approach. Not only will you be expected to carve out your own market, you have the opportunity to do so in a lucrative and buoyant industry. Business development will be far more extensive than pure cold calling. It will include mapping out industries and clients, arranging meetings with client decision makers, building a network of senior candidates who can become future clients, using social media to your advantage and building strong internal networks within Michael Page for the benefit of your business.
