The Head of Back Office Delivery will primarily shape and manage the delivery of transformation initiatives which impact the back office community (including regional and global support centres). Where initiatives span both front (field) and back office, the Head of either Field or Back Office will act as the lead delivery role.
Reporting to the Director of Business Transformation, this position is a key contributor in the Business Transformation function and will support the function's primary role, which is to challenge the status quo and culture to create a change agenda to realise the corporate strategy. Successful delivery of this function and initiatives will have a significant and material impact on the bottom line performance of the company..
• To define, recruit and lead the Back-Office Delivery Team constituted of, but not necessarily limited to;
o Programme and project managers
o Process analysts/consultants
o Business analysts
o Subject matter experts (typically drawn from the business)
o Third party support (specialist consultancies)
o Matrix managed resources as appropriate/necessary (e.g. operations staff, IT staff etc)
• To lead and be accountable for the delivery of transformation initiatives, under appropriate sponsorship as required, to the back-office community.
• To identify, shape and propose transformation activities that support the realisation of the corporate strategy
• To support the PMO in the use and continuous improvement of the delivery process and to inform the PMO of initiative status through agreed reporting mechanisms
• To work with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure changes are captured in the Operating Model (OM) and any OM impacts of changes are fully understood and addressed appropriately
• To act as the accountable delivery lead for initiatives that span both front and back office when directed by the Director of Business Transformation
Who we're looking for
•Degree educated as a minimum, a second degree preferred (e.g. business intelligence)
• Experience should include:
o Programme directorship and management of complex change programmes
o Workplace management business or similar (e.g. hotels, conferencing etc) and ideally experience in other sectors to bring new thinking to the team
o Experience of back-office functions and working with off-shored support functions
o Line and matrix team management experience<BR>o Working in a global business and multiple national cultures
o Experience of working with 'C' level stakeholders/internal customers
• Ability and willingness to travel as necessary
• Understanding of business process modelling methods and tools
• Understanding of systems and technology and their role in providing value to a business
• Evidence of analytical and creative skills
• Strong leadership ability in a global business
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and gain the support of key stakeholders
• Self-motivated with 'can-do' attitude
• Comfortable working in intensive, fast-paced environments and able to challenge the status quo and ensure changes are fact based and supported with a strong financial business case
• Strong negotiating and consensus building abilities
• Demonstrate a balance of analytical thinking and pragmatic delivery
