Head of Quality Management

Chilled Food Producer

Feltham - West London

The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of a quality management system within the main production unit at London Heathrow

Main Accountabilities of the Role

• Closely interact with management in order to raise and promote quality awareness and focus. Give input of quality requirements in planning phases for preventative action management (also in relation to outsourced activities/contracts)

• Implementation and continuous improvement of a quality management system in order to maintain the quality standards

• Implement and keep up to date the according processes and procedures in order to ensure compliance with the standards

• Report on internal and external quality indicators, as required by the local and corporate organisation, regulatory agencies, authorities and customers and initiate corrective action where required; track and monitor quality performance over time and initiate improvement measures

• Conduct documented monthly quality review meetings with Management and track improvement results
Liaise closely with Regional Quality Management, escalate quality issues immediately and share customer policies/requests; collaborate with Lean Management person/organisation

• Identify quality-related training needs and deliver training to concerned parties

• Supervise delivery and quality assurance of pest control, contract services and supplies

• Conduct local vendor audits and ensure their adherence to (company internal and legal) hygiene, food safety and quality standards

• Uphold the company's values and management principles

• If applicable, plan / implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations

• Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality System (GQS), HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, Customer Care and Business Continuity / Crisis management

Who we're looking for
• The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Regional Head of Quality.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills required

• Preferably University/Master Degree in Food Engineering; alternatively Bachelor Degree with equivalent experience
• Significant relevant experience in quality management, preferably in food industry/manufacturing, professionally qualified in food safety
• Understanding of Total Quality Management
• Experience and understanding of change management
• As a senior member of the quality team the successful applicant is expected to be capable of planning their daily workload with minimal input.
• The successful applicant will need to be capable of building strong internal relationships with such internal customers : Operations and Production Manager, Procurement, Human Resources, Account Management, Quality and Safety Managers, Headquarters Quality team as well as External: Suppliers, Local Authorities,and Customers.
