The Senior Personnel Officer will report to the Head of HR and be responsible for providing a professional, comprehensive and efficient HR service to ensure the continuous quality and development of all office and site based staff. Your main responsibilities will includes; • Interpretation and implementation of business and HR strategy plans • Providing advice on the interpretation of employment legislation and personnel practice • Liaison with the business & Group Head of Personnel regarding key business vulnerabilities and employment issues • Advising in the resolution of grievance and disciplinary matters and employee relations • Support and guide managers in the development of effective people management practice • Co-ordination of key internal communication across the business • Supervising the Personnel team (PPM) • Manage and review the recruitment, selection and induction of site, office and field staff within agreed timescales • Ensure accurate administration and maintenance of personnel records • Ensure accurate transfer of payroll details from region to Group within strict deadlines • Supporting the Training & Development Manager in the provision of effective training and development initiatives for office and site based staff. • Continually review current policy, working practices and procedures and assist the Head of Personnel and the Group Head of Personnel in aligning changes with the business plan, formulating new policies where necessary.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a multi-site generalist personnel environment, preferably in the retail or service sector. You will have experience at working within a senior role, with people management experience. You will also have experience of merger and acquisitions. You will be CIPD qualified and preferably hold a degree or business admin / management qualification. You will have specialist knowledge of employment legislation and have the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships.
