Insurance Business Manager

To manage respective product(s) to deliver to agreed budgets (sales, retention, income and profit) and strategies.
To ensure that the product, customer service and operations meet the needs and expectations of the customer base and to achieve the growth and profitability objectives ensuring they are consistent with overall product and customer strategies
To own, develop and ensure appropriate governance of the relationship with the outsource provider(s).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Delivery of comprehensive business plans within required timescales - new business and portfolio management.
• Responsible for recommendations for product pricing and amendment of product features.
• Ensure that products are reviewed to ensure that customers are treated fairly and consistently.
• Manage budget, ensuring all planned activities are within forecast and achieve their stated objectives.
• Development of close and mutually beneficial working relationships with key teams in the Bank and outsource providers to maximise internal efficiency and effectiveness of external activities.
• Collaborative management of internal resources and stakeholders to deliver product objectives.
• Contribute to the development of consumer and internal public relations activities and undertake media interviews as a representative of the organisation, to maximise the communications potential of the Bank.

Who we're looking for
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED
• A minimum of five years experience in a senior: product management, product development or relationship management role within a relevant financial services environment.
• Experience of an outsourced operating model is essential, with particular skills in managing across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Project management experience in complex multi-functional projects.
• Superior communication skills with proven understanding of the value of research and analysis in understanding customer needs and expectations.
• Previous experience liaising with marketing and promotional teams on delivery of these activities.
• The ability to operate and influence at senior levels (including internal and external forums) is essential.
• Previous experience of managing P&L levers (i.e. Income and/or cost lines) to drive business performance.
• Deep understanding of the Regulatory environment.
• Strong numerical and problem solving ability, in particular an ability to interpret MI and analyse root cause of performance issues.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
