The purpose of the Business Intelligence (BI) Executive role is to provide accurate and up-to-date business research on existing and prospective clients to support the firm's strategy.
The junior level researcher will also support the current Business Intelligence team and there will opportunity to develop and grow within the role, undertaking more complex research items over time.
The Business Intelligence Executive will have the following key objectives and responsibilities:
1. Compiling client research reports
Drafting reports within the approved templates, analysing the client's strategy and providing company, market and people information over a range of sectors
Utilising global sources including on-line research databases and hard-copy sources
Providing quarterly update reports for priority clients, to include recent financials, people and sector news
2. Working with the Sector Business Development Account Managers
Drafting sector reports identifying sector trends / issues and major players
Take responsibility for specific sector(s) and keep up-to-date with information relevant to that sector
3. Assisting the Business Development Account Managers with planning for (and attending where required) client service review meetings
Preparing research to support client meetings
Producing specific research, post-meeting, as required
4. Provide a News monitoring service
Identifying relevant news stores and disseminating these to the internal clients, via email and the intranet
5. Supporting client bids, tenders and proposals
6. Support other members of the Business Intelligence team as required
Who we're looking for
The Person
Degree educated or equivalent calibre with some research experience.
Experience of a professional services environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
Strong computer literacy, including Excel & Word.
Able to develop specialist sector knowledge and synthesis data from multiple sources
Team oriented, flexible and enthusiastic with a committed, can-do approach.
Able to work independently, using own initiative to progress tasks.
Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deal calmly with the pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.
Quality oriented and conscientious with a good eye for detail.
Confident communicator, able to deal with internal and external clients in a sensitive and efficient manner.
Demonstrable and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Some flexibility with regard to hours worked will be an essential part of the role.
