The Windows Server Analyst will mostly be as described by a 3rd line support role but you will be expected to perform support functions of a 1st and 2nd level support role as required from time to time. You will also ensure timely management of service desk issues qualified by the 1st line support team that they are resolved with business agreed SLA's.
Primarily you will be responsible for ensuring the core backend systems and services operate without interruption not including scheduled maintenance periods and are maintained as appropriate.
Who we're looking for
The Windows Server Analyst role exposure requires: Systems and services in use at my client are mostly Microsoft based and as such it will be required that you are certified to an MCITP standard.
Systems include: • AD DS Management • MS Exchange Server 2007 • SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 Administration • DNS / DHCP / WSUS / Printer Management • WDS • Hyper-V Environment • NLB and MS Clustered systems and iSCSI/FC protocol • Trend AV • IIS Management • Veritas Backup Exec
Other systems may include: • Avaya phone system administration • SharePoint 2010 Administration and Development • Avigilon CCTV Video Server • Optimo / Microsoft CRM • MS Dynamics Navision 5
In addition to the core systems/technologies you will require knowledge and exposure of the following software technologies/methodologies:
• Windows XP/7 Managed Client Environments • Extensive use of GP for both software and settings deployment • Exposure of MSI application packaging and deployment
Hardware exposure preferred but not essential will include:
• Dell Power Edge Servers • Dell Opltiplex series desktops • Dell Latitude series laptops • HP Elite series desktops • HP Elitebook series laptops
