This is a wonderful opportunity for a qualified accountant to join an expanding global business and gain some varied finance exposure, by working in a small, motivated and highly-skilled team with responsibility for the reporting and financial management of four UK entities and international oversight of the Liquid Processing and Pharmaceutical Strategic Business Units (SBUs). Initially you will be focused on the SBU performance but you will also be given exposure to the UK reporting and financial management responsibilities of the team. Some key roles of the team are listed below. There are prospects for development within the team and the wider international group.
STRATEGIC BUSINESS UNIT REPORTING
• Preparation of summarised SBU reports for internal management information
• Review of monthly company reports
• Maintenance of project approval database
UK COMPANY REPORTING
• Preparation and reporting of monthly accounts package, annual budget, statutory accounts, year-end and forecast results of the four UK reporting entities in accordance with the timetable covering the following reports:
Financial statements
Project status
Order intake
Tax package
Personnel
Overdue accounts
• Provide financial management information and support to the UK management team
SPECIAL PROJECTS
• Involvement in due diligence for potential acquisitions and assimilation of new units into the SBU
• Review of capital expenditure projects and investment appraisals
• Preparation of ad hoc reports as required by senior management
• Optimize liquidity and working capital planning
Who we're looking for
A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a strong academic record, you will be keen to add value to a growing organisation. You could have qualified in Practice or in industry but your desire to progress and succeed will be evident. The key attributes my client will be looking for include:
• A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to understand business issues and build relationships with management in the SBU
• Excellent IT skills including Excel
• Broad accounting and taxations skills with up to date knowledge of International Accounting Standards
• An ability to work under pressure and meet tight timetables

This role sits within the Pharma Systems and Liquid Processing SBUs and the headquarters for these SBUs is in Chandlers Ford, nr Southampton.The 13reporting units generate revenues of circa 500m Euros from a customer base made-up of blue-chip pharmaceutical, brewing, dairy and consumer goods companies. The SBU companies operate internationally and are based in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, China and South Africa.
