Financial Controller

This is a full time role within the Finance and Administration function of the company based in Cardiff. The person will report to the Finance Director.

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure timely and accurate completion of internal management accounts and reporting packs and compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including preparation for and management of annual company audit and ensuring that internal controls and processes operates correctly and effectively to allow this.

In addition the role also encompasses managing the company's financial team consisting of financial accountant, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and field service administration.

The overall purpose of the Finance and Administration department is to provide an efficient and professional service to our business at all times.

Who we're looking for
Key Skills Required

• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience preferably in a commercial environment.
• "Navision" experience desirable although not essential.
• A proven manager/team leader with experience in managing/leading teams.
• The management skills and experience to help and support the F&A staff. It is essential that any candidate should have the right attitude and communication skills, to deal with staff on a daily basis.
• The ability to act as a role model for the F&A personnel and lead by example.
• Possess the ability to think logically and clearly, able to make decisions and use their own judgement.
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written especially in order to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise their work in order to ensure that the F&A department meets the business needs in a timely manner.
• An ability to handle pressure and be able to maintain a professional approach at all times - especially should conflict arise in the F&A department. The person needs to possess the appropriate interpersonal skills to handle and diffuse any potential difficult situations.
