Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, this role is responsible for leading Genesis' Financial Accounting service including: responsibility for the Association's consolidated statutory accounts; responding to accounting standard developments; continually enhancing financial control;, building relationships with the external auditors; leading a team and; developing a customer service culture.

Responsible for delivering the Association's consolidated accounts, ensuring new entities and acquisitions are accounted for correctly and efficiently.
Leading and developing the Association's financial systems; including Balance Sheet responsibility for an asset portfolio in excess of £2.5 billion, effective financial control and introducing innovative processes to reflect best practice.
Developing a results focussed service, acting as a key point of contact and advisor for senior colleagues on tax and VAT.
Managing the Financial Accounting team, ensuring development and progression for your direct reports.

Who we're looking for
You must be a fully qualified accountant with experience of developing and mentoring a team. The ideal candidate will have assumed responsibility for financial control in another business and have worked in the Registered Provider sector or gained experience of the sector through working in public practice. This is an opportunity to act as an advisor to a business from the inside, implement new policies and processes and take responsibility for accounting for a substantial asset portfolio.
