Commodities Buyer

My client, a national manufacturing business, are looking for Commodity Buyer to join their team. Your core accountabilities in this role will be to;
• Manage and develop a team of purchasing assistants,
• Liaise with Design, Warehouse, Production and Purchasing,
• Develop partnerships with suppliers to ensure exceptional levels of quality and service,
• Take full accountability of an annual spend of approximately £18M per annum
• Source new suppliers and products to assist in increasing profitability

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this position you will be CIPS qualified or working towards (or equivalent), and ideally have previously ideally worked within an modular or automotive environment. Additional competencies include;

• Evidence of managing a small team
• Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal/influencing skills
• Previous knowledge of implementing change
Previous experience of purchasing sheet materials and knowledge of stock would be advantageous.
