This is an integral position within this growing niche manufacturing facility and is due to an increase in orders and restructure within the business. This person will be charged with managing the day to day manufacturing and assembly of complex low volume/high value products onsite. Responsibilities include: • Day to day management, organisation and motivation of a highly skilled workforce • Products are generally high value/low volume parts that require a substantial amount of detailed management and resource planning to ensure on-time delivery •Supervision of purchases activity + stock control responsibility + direct schedule of some "key" purchases. • Attention to detail and a structured, orderly approach are key elements of the manufacturing environment as is adherence to stringent quality systems. The role involves a wide remit and will include responsibility for machine maintenance, training and development and troubleshooting manufacturing operations where problems are encountered.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will: • Be experienced in a low volume/high value assembly environment • A good knowledge of modern manufacturing principles is also required, particularly the application of Lean Manufacturing techniques • The ability to visualise and plan complex manufacturing operations is essential as is the willingness to become involved in detail, taking a very hands-on approach where necessary to identify and resolve machining issues • The ability to engage and motivate a highly skilled workforce is essential. The role demands tenacity and a very positive 'can do' attitude and will prove very rewarding for someone with these attributes
