This position sits within the MI and cost control team, which is responsible for: - Global MI reporting; - Budgeting and re-forecasting; and - Weekly and monthly reporting for executive London management/ Board Cost control and reporting across the bank - Development of MI and cost reporting generally . The principal accountabilities of this role are as follows:
a) Day to day Responsibility for:
MI
- Preparation of monthly Global MI reporting for the Global investment bank, both revenues and costs; - Preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly financial information for inclusion in the Weekly/Monthly CFO Report in London; - Preparation of inter-company reconciliations, and related trade date adjustments; - The update and development of existing excel based spreadsheets pertaining to management and Board reporting.
b) Budgeting: the annual/quarterly budgeting/reforecast process;
c) Cost Reporting: the preparation of required cost related reports and cost control generally.
c) ensuring alignment between MI and: a) the quarterly IFRS submissions to Group Reporting; and b) the Bank's local IFRS reporting requirements and providing assistance where required;
d) Assisting on major finance projects relating to the improvement of the efficiency of Group MI reporting;
e) Leading and supervising the day to day work of the MI and cost control team and also developing the team.
Who we're looking for
Key Competencies & Qualifications for this role include: - Qualified accountant, with relevant financial services experience, particularly in the area of investment banking - Recent MI/cost control practical experience, ideally in both a management and "hands on" capacity - Budgeting experience - Good excel and PowerPoint skills - Can perform reporting roles, with good attention to detail - Good commercial experience, with the ability to see the 'bigger picture' through the detail, and understand the mechanics of the business - Ability to work both alone and as part of a team - Ability to work to tight deadlines to a high standard of accuracy
