MI Analyst (Maternity Cover)

Our Regulatory Body client requires a MI Analyst to join their Business Planning team and support the senior management in decision making whilst ensuring the Body utilises IT systems to deliver strategic objectives. This role is Maternity Cover for 6 - 12 months.

Management Information is a critical element in delivering the client's strategy and improving operational performance. The post holder will work closely with and be supported by the members of the Management Information team within the Business Planning & Performance Unit.
Working closely with colleagues in the small and supportive Management Information team, you will be solving reporting problems by extracting, analysing and interpreting vital data from a variety of sources, you will produce reports, summaries and briefing notes, and present statistical analysis to diverse audiences. Your findings and considerations will have a significant impact on strategic and operational decisions, and you will coach managers on the use and interpretation of MI reports. Regularly reviewing data collection and analysis methods, and actively contributing to the design and update of systems and processes, you will help improve the accuracy and integrity of our information.

Together with a degree or equivalent relevant experience, you have developed outstanding IT skills in data extraction and data management packages specifically T-SQL and SQL Server and a practical knowledge of various statistical and analytical methodologies. You are a logical and creative thinker, with a proven ability to analyse and solve problems, you also have excellent communication skills and a broad understanding of the SRA and its functions.

Who we're looking for
To be considered for the role of MI Analyst, you will be able to demonstrate:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent job related experience
• Experience of working in an analytical role
• Practical knowledge of a range of statistical and analytical methodologies and data management packages, including Excel, SSRS, SSMS and Business Objects
• Practical knowledge of structured query language in particular T-SQL
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written and ability to demonstrate confidentiality
• Excellent presentation skills
• Clear perspective and sound judgment
• Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
• Ability to think logically and creatively
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good organisation skills
• Strong team player
• High level of IT skills including competency with Microsoft Office (particularly Access & Excel), Internet and other electronic data sources
