Financial Controller

This position will work closely with and report to the Group Finance Director.

The business is currently part way through an organisational change programme and as such this is a new role with both an operational and strategic remit.
The responsibilities of this role will vary and therefore require a determined and versatile individual. The main duties will include:

• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances.
• Ensure the accurate preparation and reporting of monthly financial results in strict accordance with company deadlines.
• Prepare monthly consolidated group accounts including all KPI and supporting analysis.
• Cash flow monitoring and forecasting on a daily and monthly basis. Cash management and management of financial forecasting.
• Manage treasury functions (i.e. Investments, Cash sweeping, Interest and inter-company payments and receipts).
• Lead role in implementing an upgraded accounting system to ensure that accounts are effectively managed.
• Overseeing external accounts, taxation and VAT.
• Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed.
• Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial controls and reporting systems.
• Coordinate and prepare annual group budgets including operating and working capital expenditure budgets. Assist in the process of developing and reviewing budgeting systems.
• Review and update the groups internal control environment.

Who we're looking for
The Financial Controller should have:
• A full CCAB accountancy qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Previous experience in a similar position, including hands-on experience of providing Financial Control across a group of companies.
• The ability to lead and develop a Finance function.
• The ability to work on own initiative.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• The ability to work with personnel from all levels.
• The ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team.
• Numerical and budgeting skills.
• Excellent Excel modelling skills.
• Outstanding organisational skills.
