As General Manager you will be responsible for delivering the UK's business strategy, the overall performance of the UK's business, leading the UK senior management team to deliver its goals, optimising the value of the current business resources and assets, delivering improved financial performance and ensuring the future success of the business.

Key responsibilities:

Local level:

• Lead the UK business to achieve short and long term business objectives
• Implement the global strategy in the UK, adapting and optimising it for local operating conditions
• Focus on the performance of key commercial contracts
• Coach, motivate, develop and manage the UK senior managementteam
• Drive the character and leadership values of the group in the UK, bringing a client-centric approach to all business relationships
• Drive the group's brand values and behaviours internally, seeking continuous innovation and industry-leading customer service

Group Level:

• Maintain and promote a proactive, transparent and collaborative communication style
• Promote and encourage the proactive sharing of information at local, regional and global level, communicating the progress and development of revenue growth, asset retention and reinvention, people and performance and sector/industry innovation
• Participate in the global management team

This role will report to the divisional CEO (not based in the UK) and will lead the UK senior management team with the following direct reports:
Finance Director, Sales Director, Marketing Manager, Business & Commercial Director & HR Manager.

Who we're looking for
Applications are invited from individuals with previous MD, General Manager or Country Manager experience. Whilst there is some degree of flexibility about the ideal profile, it is envisaged that the individual appointed to this role with offer the following:
• Successful track record in a commercial leadership role, ideally operating as an MD within a UK-based SME
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining long term B2B client relationships (direct and through a third party)
• Previous experience of directly leading a successful and dynamic B2B sales team
• Inspiring, motivational and energetic leadership style - capable of delivering business performance improvement through a collaborative and teamwork driven culture
• Natural business-winner, with exceptional client relationship skills
• Proven ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse leadership team
• Used to reporting to an International parent company/group

This role is ideal for someone looking to leverage their previous GM track record and help a successful business maximise its potential. This is not a turnaround opportunity or a role that needs a specialist 'change' professional. Instead this is a great opportunity for someone capable of turning 'good to great'.
