Finance Manager - Capital and Impairment

Key areas of delivery will include:
• To business partner and co-pilot business management of the Mortgage Risk function in providing accurate reporting and analysis of capital and associated KPIs.
• Support capital measurement activities as required, through ensuring best in class analytics, stress testing and accuracy methodologies.
• Work closely with Decision Science to ensure any redevelopment or recalibration of the underlying capital models are fit for purpose
• Ensure compliance with Retail provisioning policy, accounting standards, SoX controls and Group data accuracy standards- proactively driving any required changes to secured capital controls environment
• Provide subject matter expert (SME) support for capital and impairment, into all mortgage integration activity, ensuring all modelling, reporting and analytics capabilities remain optimal and functional.
Who we're looking for
• Highly numerate with a degree in a mathematical / statistical / engineering discipline, or with industry relevant experience, together with experience in a related field (e.g. credit risk / capital management, financial services accountancy etc).
• Key understanding of accountancy / finance standards, and how these interlock with capital adequacy processes.
• A key understanding of the wider UK economy, and how changes in this will impact Secured Lending portfolios, together with a comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending products and markets, particularly UK mortgages.
• Experience and knowledge of the entire credit risk life-cycle, from point of acquisition through to recoveries and write-off.
• Strong analytical ability, experienced in data analysis and data mining and the ability to work accurately to tight timescales.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills, with a track record of delivering solutions and communicating of results to a senior management level.
