Being the number two in finance, reporting directly into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the management accounts and financial reporting internally and externally. You will help support the 5 year strategic planning as well as taking ownership of project accounting records and relevant costings.
The commercial aspects of the role include supporting with bidding and analysis, manage submission of MOD rates as well as undertaking projects as requested by the Finance Director and liaising with internal and external customers including HMRC.
In addition you will support the Financial Accountant where required including liaising with internal and external auditors.
Furthermore, you will deputise for the Finance Director in their absence and will therefore need to be confident in liaising with senior personnel throughout the business.

Who we're looking for
This role will suit someone with previous project accounting experience in a manufacturing environment that is keen to progress their career. The view is that this role will develop into a Financial Controller role and eventually a Finance Director and therefore the suitable individual will be keen to further their career in a relatively short time frame.
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with 4/5 years post qualified experience is preferred.
Analytical, creative, pragmatic and flexible are all key traits for this role.
