Area Managers provide one-to-one support to store managers (most of whom part-own their business) in this well-known and market-leading chain. Your skills and advice will enable them to develop and implement practical solutions to key performance issues and objectives in their stores. Area Managers assist store managers in the development of bespoke store business plans that are aligned to both regional strategies and the overall business strategy.
Who we're looking for
A background in retail management in an area capacity is key to this role and the ability to partner people and influence them will be critical to your success. Ideally of graduate calibre, you will need to have had exposure to the following: • Financial: a track record of growing sales, managing costs and maximising profitability; experience in financial planning/forecasting, budget and income management; and loss prevention and managing financial risk in a retail environment. • Operations: significant experience in retail operations with a national chain or group. • Customer: implementing customer service strategies based on feedback from mystery shoppers, customer satisfaction surveys and customer feedback programmes; strong focus and support for internal and external customers; understand the importance of marketing/PR to drive business performance; and good competitor analysis and awareness. • People: ability to influence others; and performance management experience. • Personal Qualities & Behaviours: excellent communication skills at all levels; strong team player and gets results through teamwork; strong influencing skills; good adaptability to getting the job done; resilient in approach; personal impact and credibility; and good at decision-making. • Innovative: good analysis skills; good planning, organisation and time management skills; able to understand and implement strategic plans; and drives own self-developm
