Working in their EMEA Shared service centre based in Uxbridge, Middlesex. The Financial Accountant will assume responsibility for the total general ledger accounting fortheir Italian entity under the supervision of the Financial Accounting Supervisor:-
Duties will include:
• Financial Accounting
- review balance sheet and P&L accounts periodically to ensure appropriate valuation and resolve any queries;
- review of all clearing & prepayment accounts to ensure that accounts used are regularly reviewed and cleared;
- prepare appropriate reconciliation, account analysis and general ledger entries to enable the monthly reporting cycle to be completed on time and with accuracy;
• Month-end closing process.
- Be the point of contact for Financial Planning / Local Finance for market under responsibility;
- Analysis to be reviewed with Financial Planning / Local Finance team.
- Prepare final balance sheet reconciliation and monthly package files identifying points for discussion and resolution prior to meeting with Financial Accounting Supervisor & Financial Planning / Local Finance;
- Prepare final draft templates for review by Financial Planning / Local Finance before submission; pass any required adjustments (corporate reporting on a Legal Entity basis, as well as management reporting based on Business Areas;
- Ensure reporting templates in line with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures.
- Balance sheet reviews. Assist with compiling monthly/quarterly balance sheet review schedules, participate in balance sheet review meetings with local Finance teams and work to successfully actioning points arising from meetings.
• Statutory accounting
- Maintain and present Statutory accounts for business unit under responsibility, either directly by having local knowledge or by sub-contracting to third party.
- Ensure all statutory reports are prepared in accordance with local country GAAP, reconciled to y-e reporting templates and reviewed & approved by local management.
- Other duties include:- Manual billing, Payroll, Tax,Audit and Sox Compliance
Who we're looking for
You will hold a local accounting qualification and be able demonstrate strong technical financial accounting skills holding post qualified experience .You will have previous experience of financial accounting and reporting preferably within a larger organisation.You will have previous experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax and VAT returns for your local market and have an understanding of local Italian GAAP accounting. You should also have good IT / systems skills and have used an ERP system such as SAP or Oracle. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills are essential.
You will be responsible for the Italian market and thus we are looking for someone who is fluent Italian with English language skills.
