This role will require the successful candidate to work withinan underwriting team.
The position will involve dealing with new enquiries, processing applications andcommunicating with new and existing customers.

Who we're looking for
It is important that you are able to make appropriate decisions using logical arguments whilst adhering to lending policy. You will need to have the ability to build effective relationships and provide sufficient justification to build the trust and confidence of Senior Management in your lending decisions. You must demonstrate high levels of personal credibility and underwriting expertise alongside up to date knowledge of mortgages markets and products, regulatory requirements and the changing climate of demands surrounding Credit Risk and Financial Crime.

In addition you will be a champion for underwriting excellence and share accountability for delivery of department KPI's and service standards, supporting the management team. Input to key stakeholder meetings as required to influence positive outcomes to maximise business opportunities whilst reducing risk, contributing ideas to enhance Lending policy and Mortgage processes.

Alongside your underwriting responsibilities, you will also be a role model for the team of underwriters to provide coaching and support to them in relation to underwriting cases and to help them effectively progress through our accreditation programme. You will also be expected to work flexibly to ensure service standards are maintained, as such you will be trained on all tasks within the area, which may include processing and pipeline chasing.
