General Ledger SSC Team Leader

The purpose of this role will be to support the design and implementation of a General Ledger shared service centre for the business. This will include migrating activities from all regions into this new area, with minimal disruption and loss of service which will allow you to run a high quality, customer-orientated service to all regions. It will also be a purpose to identify further areas of potential centralisation and improvement.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:
• Support the design and implementation of standardised best practice processes to perform transactional accounting activities efficiently and under control.
• Recruit, manage and develop a team of accounting staff to provide shared accounting services to Group businesses across the UK.
• Manage delivery of accounting services to Morrison businesses in line with SLA obligations. .
• Engage with local finance teams and business management, ensuring that the centre provides the right level of customer service and that any related issues are identified and resolved.
• Leading a team of 8-10 staff
• Managing accounting function for 8business 'Clusters'

Who we're looking for
To qualify for this position you will be of graduate calibre and be a professionally qualified accountant (preferably ACCA or ACA). You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experienced manager, able to demonstrate their ability to develop and motivate large teams
• A proven track record of driving business changes
• Highly organised in approach, with close attention to detail and a customer-services mindset
• Experience of a General Ledger Shared Services environment
• Logical, methodical and consistent approach to controls and procedures
• Challenging, influential, energetic, proactive and ambitious.
• Ability to communicate clearly with business and financial colleagues alike.
• High level of experience in designing, implementing and improving financial processes and controls in a medium-sized business.
• Strong experience in using ERP and financial systems.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across the business
• Intellectually curious; ability to discover and question the facts and then articulate the 'story' in a consistent, well-presented and understandable manner.
• High quality standards.
• Regular travel to UK sites
