Due to a substantial increase both in business development activity and new development & production projects, an opportunity has arisen for an Engineering & Operations Director (interim). My client who is a leading supplier of technology based solutions to the Medical, Portable, Industrial Electronics and Defence sectors is now recruiting a Interim Engineering & Operations Director. Privately owned SME business provide a complete design and manufacturing solution for battery products in to the hi-tech device market and due to their rapid growth in their project workload require an experienced Operations / Engineering Director.
As a Interim Operations and Engineering Director you will be responsible for the following:
- Day to day management of the business
- Delivery of project objectives to budget and schedule.
- Manage external & internal customer interfaces acting as the main point of contact
- Maintain project schedules and resource plans
- Prepare regular project reports
- Manage project priorities to deliver business objectives
- Plan engineering projects during bid, creating a suitable method of monitoring project progress to report to Senior Management

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have proven successful experience of running a manufacturing and Engineering/development operation, perhaps on behalf of a mobile, remotely-based or Group MD.
An electronics industry background or experience is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience of project managing the design and development of products.
Reporting directly to the managing director, the successful candidate will lead and manage the Engineering & Production teams to achieve the company's business plans. You will track and report progress to KPI's and attend the monthly Board meetings."These roles are essential to the current growth and success of the business. The successful candidates need to be experienced with a proven track record in the following:

- Working in a hi-tech engineering industry running multiple projects.
- Managing Systems Development Projects.
- Managing Safety Critical Projects.
- Managing subcontractors.
- Leading Project teams in a challenging customer facing role
- Strong business rapport and relationship building.

What's on offer
c.£60,000 - £65,000 pro-rata (6 month contract)
