An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join the fast paced, forward thinking, market leading Warehousing team at Next. The role will be based near Pontefract (West Yorkshire).
Ambitious, energetic and results driven, the successful candidate will also be highly commercial, resilient and possess excellent communication/organisation skills. Positive in their approach, confident in their decision making and engaging and impactful with their current teams, we are looking for a strong leader for this very unique role.
Who we're looking for
Next, as the market leaders in home delivery, pride themselves in maintaining a reputation for swift delivery, outstanding customer service in a cost focussed environment. The business is constantly evolving and looks for a management team who are H&S focussed and driven by continuous improvement.
The cultural fit for this role is very important and Next are looking to recruit a strong visionary leader and team player, to enthuse and inspire others, as this site employs around 500 staff. This person will thrive on building a successful and resilient working environment, whilst creating innovation, gaining buy-in and ultimately delivering continued competitive edge.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record within a unionised FMCG warehousing and distribution environment at Senior Management level. Key responsibilities will include:-
• Engaging and managing a site team across a 24/7 operation
• Ensuring resources are appropriately allocated to drive a culture of delivering high service levels within cost
• Promoting a positive attitude towards all H&S issues
• Manage an annual operational budget of around £14m
• Pro-active in driving change and improvement through this highly automated operation
• Deputising when required for the General Manager or at other sites if required
• Responsible for the warehouse network on a weekend rota basis (approx 1 week in 10)
