• To advise theBoard on its future strategy to enable it to achieve its overall mission and to ensure the strategy is effectively and efficiently delivered
• To ensurethecharityis effectively led and managed through the effective leadership ofthe management staff and charity as a whole
• To ensure budget targets are achieved and take appropriate action in the light of financial performance
• To advance merger options to a point where the Board can determine what action it wants to take
• To ensure the charity is effectively represented and promoted
Key tasks
• Strategy development and implementation
• To produce appropriate strategic options for approval by the Board and Committee of Management
• To ensure effective delivery of strategic plans and take appropriate remedial action to address shortcomings in delivery
• To report to the Boards on progress against strategic plans
• To establish and develop opportunities for the growth ofthe charity'sactivities
• To ensure the effective promotion of the charity
• To represent the charityto partners and stakeholders to help it achieve its mission
• To play an active representative role in partnership work
• To ensure the effective governance of the charity
• To ensure all the charity's activities comply with its values
Who we're looking for
We are seeking an individual who is able to contribute to the overall management and leadership of the charity working with the management team and board members, manage projects successfully, develop financial strategies, managing existing funds effectively and secure additional funding, negotiate and communicate effectively at all levels, produce concise and objective written reports on complex issues. Candidates must be: Educated to degree level, and an MBA or other post graduate training/qualification would be a definite positive Possess well developed commercial experience Have a significant track record as a leader at a senior level within an organisation and people management experience A good understanding and commitment to issues facing third sector and charitable organisations and issues facing deprived communities
