The purpose of this new role is to lead, manage and direct Strategic Purchasing activity for my client. Currently my client are a recognised brand within precision engineering who are looking to make the step change into batch manufacturing.
- Management of Commodity Buyers and Commodity Manager
- Contract management
- Responsible for reporting to the Managing Director
- Stimulation and co-ordination of all cost reduction activity, both direct and indirect (including currency mitigation)
- RFQ stimulation with formal tracking
- Initiation, training, benchmarking and best practice sharing with regards to VA/ VE opportunities
- New product introduction (NPI) support
- Material flow policy including increased Kanban

Who we're looking for
Ideally of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will have experience of:
• Experience of working within a fast paced high volume manufacturing environment, preferably electronics, automotive or aerospace
• A clear commercial awareness
• Experience of low cost country sourcing
• Experience of leading the procurement processes at a strategic level
• Has clear experiences as a procurement professional in a similar environment.
• Experience of implementing low cost country sourcing stratergy
• Operated within a SME organisation and looking to take the next step in yourcareer
• Negotiating experience at a senior level with clear results which aligned into the business & customer
• Be able to demonstrate where they have developed or assisted in developing a longer term strategy in procurement
• Achieves results whilst aligning into customer needs
