The Virtual Desktop Solutions Architect will be permanently based in Sydney. It will provide technical and business consultative support within the Professional Services division of an organization during the pre-sales and post-sales cycle. You will provide technical leadership for specific data centre products in order to engage the customer or execute an engagement. You will work closely with Sales and Data Centre Program Manager in order to deliver the best solution for the customer.
• Lead and drive definition of the overall architecture for projects, in a way that complies with and advances overall enterprise architecture.
• Develop, document and communicate Solutions Architecture documents that summarise the solution.
• Responsible for ensuring the architecture is implemented in accordance to design over entire lifecycle of project, and managing changes to design by ensuring stakeholders are informed and agree to any changes.
• Engage with business stakeholders and establish working relationships in researching and preparation of business requirements.
Who we're looking for
• Competent atanalyzing, developing, deploying, and supporting solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Ability to utilise knowledge of Data Centre industry applications and Cisco products, to provide competitive solution offerings and best practices
• Knowledge of major desktop virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere and View, XenServer and XenDesktop, Microsoft Hyper-V, Parallels Virtuozo, and Quest vWorkspace
• Knowledge of enterprise operational standards and processes, including change management, capacity management and SLA management
• Expertise using design and project management tools, including Microsoft Project and Visio
• Familiarity with desktop engineering concepts, including application packaging, Active Directory GPOs, automation and migration
