Reinsurance Claims Technician

There are currently two roles: technical processing of either (premium and pro-rata accounts)or (Excess of Loss claims) for specified accounts. The role encompasses all the general technicians duties, such as:
• Reviewing and processing claims advises from assigned portfolios.
• Resolve any current or potential issues with clients.
• Participate in market meetings to maintain and develop relationships internally and externally.
• Request and source LOC agreements and ensure they are compliant with department regulations.
• Collect outstanding balances on assigned accounts, provide reports/ statements to clients, reinsurers and management as warranted.
• Process reinsurer enquiries after reviewing the claims file and ensuring questions have not already been answered; then process the clients response within departmental guidelines.
• Participate in meetings to share ideas, experience and opinions to increase market knowledge and ultimately improve service.
• Continually develop and maintain industry sector skills again to enhance service, support customer relationships and enable allocation of further responsibilities.
• Adhere to Safety, Compliance standard, Health and Environment policy.
• Support and assist junior staff if necessary.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have had at least 2 years technical experience within the Reinsurance sector. If you have not had this experience then please do not waste your time applying for this role as your application will be rejected. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and negotiate with clients in a professional manner. They will be committed to achieving results and have the ability to work in a high performing team. They will have a good understanding of Reinsurance concepts, accounting principles and general market knowledge. They will be good at prioritising with conflicting demands and be able to manage time effectively. They will have good attention to detail, be thorough in completion of tasks and have the ability to promote new processing ideas. They will have the ability to assess and resolve problems effectively alongside keeping the client happy at all times. They will be keen to progress within their career and therefore be able to take ownership of personal development.
Minimum 2 A Levels or equivalent alongside technical reinsurance experience.
