Oxford University Press now requires an exceptional non-contentious Intellectual Property / Commercial lawyer to join its well respected and busy legal department, reporting to one of the team's Senior Legal Advisers.

The initial focus will be on OUP's Global Academic Business and OUP's UK Schools publishing division, OXED.

Main areas of responsibility will include:

• drafting a wide range of commercial agreements relating to print and online publishing, online product licensing, rights licensing, e-commerce, e-books, journals society contracts
• providing day-to-day legal advice on a wide range of issues to clients of all levels in the organisation
• managing litigation.

This is a stimulating and dynamic role with early responsibility for the right candidate

Who we're looking for
You will need to be a UK qualified solicitor with relevant post-qualification experience gained ideally in a law firm and in-house. You will also be expected to demonstrate a commercial business focus with excellent drafting, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Strong academic credentials and a working knowledge of copyright law are essential, and previous experience of publishing is desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for a first-class lawyer wishing to work in-house in a unique international business that is based in Oxford.
