The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) provides nautical charts and navigational services to support the Royal Navy and worldwide commercial shipping. UKHO products are onboard 70% of global commercial shipping, delivering World coverage to help ensure the safety of life at sea.

As a Solutions Architect you will have the opportunity to participate in a major programme of investment, designing the future architecture of the UKHO. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business, providing analysis and design under the guidance of Enterprise Architecture.

Who we're looking for
o Experience providing consultancy to the business, designing and monitoring complex architectures and delivering architectural solutions to solve business requirements and concerns.
o Experience of delivering Service Orientated Architecture.
o Excellent inter-personal / communication / influencing / management skills at all levels across the Business.
o Experience of assessing and managing architectural risk, incorporating risk mitigations into solution architecture deliverables and artefacts.
o Experience in managing architectural change control to in-flight solutions.
o Experience of working with an architectural framework and delivering solution architecture deliverables and artefacts.
o Experience working to agile methodologies.
o Experience of integrating third party COTS and third party developed solutions into an existing architecture.
o Comfortable working at the detailed level in complex technical environments.
o Strong technical background in application development, infrastructure engineering or both.
o Modelling processes, systems, data and infrastructure in UML and or other modelling language.
