• Forge close working relationships with all retail partners to create an excellent retail proposition at Aberdeen Airport, in terms of passenger satisfaction, visual excitement and store presentation.
• Ensure retail on the day delivery is aligned with all internal airport stakeholders, consistently delivering a first class experience to each and every passenger.
• Lead the delivery of a Marketing Strategy for the retail operation in order to maximise retail awareness and spend.
• Contribute to the annual business planning cycle and Department Business Plan by assisting with budgeting and forecasting and the input of strategic advice.
• Accountable for the month end, forecasting and budgeting financial processes for the Retail function.
• Analyse data, identify trends and opportunities and make recommendations to maximise sales for all concessionaires. Propose, agree and implement actions with business partners to drive sales and increase average transaction values and penetration and subsequently analyse the effectiveness of such actions.
• Assist in the development of Airport Retail Business Cases to support the delivery of the retail strategy.
• Ensure compliance with Airport and Group regulations and adoption of best practice in matters of Health, Safety, Environment and Security.
• Deputise for the Head of Property & Retail Operations as and when required.
• Monitor Retail Contracts to ensure compliance and performance. This to include wash-ups, audit, maintenance, amendments, tracking and ensuring they are in date. Plan, lead and manage all negotiations and tenders for concessionaires to an agreed level liaising with the relevant parties to achieve targets as and where directed.
• Lead the production of new Contracts and Contract Amendments and follow through all deals to signing of that Contract to ensure satisfactory completion of process and audit trail.
• Act as liaisons with other departments to ensure good communication. To work with other departments to develop and implement necessary systems and procedures.
• Ensure a thorough and up to date understanding of retail market conditions so as to be fully conversant with all current variables and likely changes to such variables.
• Manage all retail projects from inception to completion to ensure delivery on budget, on time.
Who we're looking for
• Educated to degree level.
• 3-5 years experience within a dynamic retail environment with a management position.
• Experience in a target focussed environment.
• Leadership and a passion for delivering service excellence through teamwork is essential.
• To succeed in this demanding role, you must combine entrepreneurial and commercial thinking with very sound financial, analytical and operational skills
• Highly developed level of communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively influence all stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Requires the post holder to have proven commercial and negotiating experience ideally within the retail property sector. In-depth understanding and working within property law.
• Highly developed level of communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively influence all stakeholders both internally and externally.
Competent in use of IT packages including Word, Excel, Lotus Notes PowerPoint, and ideally Oracle systems.
Clear understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
