Sellafield's internal audit function has a remit to provide assurance and advice across all areas of the business, including commercial, project management and human resources to name but a few. From day one you will take full responsibility for a varied portfolio of risk based audit reviews; ranging from supplier contract reviews and anti-fraud reviews, through commercial, security or change programme governance to reviewing the full spectrum of controls around projects. Using your ability to think strategically and outside of the box, you will be challenged to identify commercial and practical solutions to control issues and then present back to the business. You will also be tasked with proactively identifying potential areas for further review within the business, and then feed this into the annual planning process. You will have exposure to individuals at all levels but particularly at executive and Board level, with all reviews having an executive sponsor with whom you would be partnering.
The internal audit function within Sellafield has huge credibility at all levels within the business. The function is well placed to provide exposure to a wide range of business areas, which presents you with fantastic development opportunities. Recent exceptional performers have moved to senior roles in finance, commercial and operations across the Sellafield business and gained international experience with parts of the parent company organisations.
Who we're looking for
Are you a bright, self-starter with the desire and ability to make a real difference in a large, complex business? Do you want to gain excellent exposure to the people that matter within the country's leading business in one of its most exciting sectors?
The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:
• ACA qualified accountant with experience in managing reviews for complex clients. With this in mind, an Assistant Manager or Manager from a Big Four practice would be preferable
• A demonstrable strong academic track record
• Self-motivated and keen to use their initiative to problem-solve
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships

What's on offer
As a competitive, global organisation Sellafield offers employees the rewards they would expect. The position offers a salary range between £38,000 and £46,000. In addition you will be entitled to a benefits package which includes an excellent holiday allowance (25.5 days plus an additional 13), a generous pension scheme and entry into the business' bonus scheme. This role will give you an extremely rounded experience which will position you well for further career progression.
