As a Strategic Buyer you will be an integral part of the procurement function across commodity spend and services for Beiersdorf. This role encompasses both the UK and Northern Europe within its remit and some overseas travel will occasionally be required. The Strategic Buyer will join an existing UK based team with stakeholder and peer engagement across the UK and major Nordic countries including procurement, marketing and sales functions.
Who we're looking for
Ideally you will have an understanding of procurement working within a dynamic Retail, Wholesale or FMCG environment with a breadth of experience across direct and indirect spend areas. Experience of packaging spend is highly desirable as in the first instance this commodity area will be the immediate area of responsibility. Due to the flexibility of the team and project work streams, candidates with additional broad indirects and directs understanding may have an advantage.
Beiersdorf are looking for talented individuals that can demonstrate experience in/understanding of:
• Working in a fast moving procurement environment • Executing global strategy with local procurement implementation. • Negotiating best result for Beiersdorf including price, TCO, terms, supply etc • Excellent communication. Working with cross functional internal stakeholders and external suppliers. • Supplier management. Monitoring, evaluating and qualifying existing and new supplier opportunities. • Reporting. Analysing existing and continuing to build new data for functional review. Identifying maverick spend, coding all existing spend for swift analysis.
All of this, underpinned with a strong academic background, excellent interpersonal skills and a fighting spirit will ensure you succeed in what is a critical role within our growing business.
