The Team Manager will have responsibility for ensuring Area of Operation (AoOs) quarterly financial results are accurately and timely reported to the Group. Core reporting responsibilities for the corporate sector cover a number of significant companies providing lending and investment structures in the Group, and have multi-billion dollar investments, net income and dividend flows. This role will have 2-3 direct reports.
Responsibilities:
• Understanding all internal group reporting and analysis requirements for the entity whilst ensuring key controls and reconciliations between management and legal reporting are carried out per the reporting timetable.
• Ensure adherence to all SOX and Financial control requirements especially in relation to month end (journals, accruals, corporate entries).
• Manage the preparation, validation and submission of the quarterly Group Return (GARANCE) close process including commentaries.
• Co-ordinates with other Reporting teams, the Controllers function and Finance operations as appropriate.
• Timely and effective responses to special data/project requests.
• Ensuring the creation, maintenance and update of process and procedures documentation including managed handover and group records management.
• Assisting with providing financial guidance and ensuring compliance with relevant Group, IFRS, SOX and Statutory requirements including liaison with Finance Operations in Chennai for Statutory Accounts and related external audit
People Management:
• Set GPA's and IDP's for team members, half year and full year reviews of performance, manage any performance issues, compliance with HR policy.
• Tailor and learn & develop Team Members in line with leadership attributes.
• Ensure team fully trained and back up in place for all critical activities.
Who we're looking for
To qualify for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
• Must be fully qualified accountant or equivalent.
• Team Manager experience essential.
• Thorough understanding of financial and management accounting.
• Analytical, systems/process and accounting skills, with the ability to recognize underlying issues and develop appropriate resolutions.
• Previous financial reporting and people management experience beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Able to sort through ambiguous information to make sound recommendations.
