To have primary responsibility for the conduct of individual audits as outlined by the audit partner and audit manager in accordance with the standards of the firm and profession.

To contribute to the development of the department.



KEY TASKS

Audit Responsibility

Prepares the audit plan and budget for review and discussion with the audit manager and partner.
Determines, in consultation with the audit manager or partner, the applicable audit procedures.
Determines modifications of procedures that are warranted by the client's business practices and accounting policies and procedures.
Specifies segments of the audit programme to be carried out by other members of the audit team, ensuring that assistant accountants understand their responsibilities and that they are provided with appropriate on-the-job training.
Is responsible for the day-to-day control of the audit and ensuring that the audit is completed in accordance with the agreed timetable and budgets.
Is responsible for completing those aspects of the computer audit work that do not need to be completed by a computer assurance manager.
Brings promptly to the manager's or partner's attention any problems of a technical, administrative or personnel nature which needs action and to offer solutions.

Provides information necessary to support suggestions and recommendations to be included as business advisory comments in the report to management

Prepares working papers

Prepares and/or reviews drafts of the financial statements

Performs the in-charge accountant review of the working papers and financial statements,

Ensures a good working relationship with the client is maintained.

Who we're looking for

ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
Experience of planning and completing audits

SKILLS REQUIRED

Good technical / audit skills
Time management
Organisational ability
Commerciality
Ability to get on well with clients
Good understanding of business issues
Excellent communication skills
Ability to delegate work as appropriate
