Senior Trust Officer

You will manage and administer high value Trusts and deputise for the Trust Manager.

Specific duties include:

• To deal promptly and efficiently with all enquiries from beneficiaries/co-trustees /third parties through correspondence, telephone and in person, keeping management and beneficiaries advised of any developments in relation to Trusts.
• To deal with all aspects of termination/vesting of Trusts.
• To deal promptly and efficiently with investment reviews, liaising with Co-Trustees as necessary.
• To provide Management with supporting information for meetings, and attend these meetings if required.
• To deputise for Trust Manager in authorising investment transactions.
• To deputise for Trust Manager in authorising banking entries.
• To supervise Trust Assistant and input to Trust Manager.
• To prepare valuations of portfolios in conjunction with brokers reports to send co-trustees.
• To maintain an efficient diary system for forward planning.
• To audit and produce annual accounts before submission to beneficiaries and co-trustees.
• To deal with the setting up procedures of new Trusts.
• To instruct investment transactions timeously through nominated person.
• To observe all regulatory rules impacting on job activities.
• To support Trust Manager with ongoing in-house training on systems and procedures.

Who we're looking for
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally by letter with all contacts in course of trust administration.
• Sound knowledge of administrative procedures and accounting practice relating to trust administration
• Knowledge of tax legislation in relation to Trusts.
• Basic Knowledge of Scots Law in relation to Trusts.
• Knowledge of the Financial Services Act relating to trust activities.
• Awareness of Financial Markets with particular emphasis on UK stockmarket.
• Ability to prioritise and organise own work load and supervise more junior members of the team.
