DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The tasks and responsibilities of the Development Manager are the following:

- Delivery of software development in line with agreed plans
- Responsible for maintaining the application architecture for finance systems globally and as part of the overall IS&D application architecture (aligned to business / functional architecture)

Management tasks:
- All aspects of human resource management including the performance management cycle of internal development staff
- Recruitment of internal and external development resources
- Competences training, implementation of standard processes
- Participation of development staff in defined projects
- Managing relationships with application and resource vendors as appropriate and agreed with management
- Establishing and maintaining the development plan(s) for initiatives as well as baseline
- Planning of development staff for providing production support
- Defining, agreeing, maintaining and improving quality levels (e.g. compliance with ITIL, ASL, Prince2)

Who we're looking for
Education:
HBO / University

Required experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as line manager
- Minimum of 3 years managing and leading a team of (10+) application developers
- Working experience in a financial services environment
- Track record of successful delivery of developed applications
- Track record of maintaining application architectures
- Working in an international environment, preferably as internal central software provider
- Implementing software development strategies (code branching, merging) and change management
- Working experience with processing of banking products (back-office processing) and/or financial applications
- Data and process modelling preferred

Knowledge of technologies involved in the overall architecture, such as:
- Financial applications with preference for Oracle/PeopleSoft General Ledger
- MIS and reporting applications with preference for Informatica, Business Objects and FiRE (Financial Reporter)
- Business rule logic applications with preference for Microgen-OST
- In-depth knowledge of one or more of these technologies

The department is actively building and maintaining expertise on financial processing and reporting systems, including Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials, Financial Data Warehouse, Informatica, Business Objects, Financial Reporter (FiRE), Accounting Entry Generator and Reconciliation applications (OST Business Rules).
Through a change programme the financial application architecture is maintained, expanded and deployed globally.
