Mini Factory Manager

Automotive

Carlisle

Permanent

Updated June 12, 2008

The role of Mini Factory Manager will eventually encompass having complete autonomy to look after your own business unit, however in the short term development can be provided for the successful individual prior to taking full control. This Business Unit will comprise a total of 350 reports led through a set of first line managers running a 24/7 shift structure. The mini factory itself, is a key area within the Pirelli business, assembling high performance tyres to a challenging set of KPIs. The key challenges to the role will be to develop staff ensuring that a world class manufacturing culture is maintained and improved upon whilst managing an operational Profit and Loss account. This role is an excellent grounding for taking control of larger cost centres such as this one and developing the successful candidate into a fully fledged factory manager in the longer term for a highly successful and attractive brand name offering excellent personal development and career progression.

Who we're looking for
You will be a degree qualified Production/Manufacturing Manager from preferentially, but not essentially, an automotive or General Manufacturing background. You will also have a demonstrable track record of making operational improvements through others in a world class manufacturing arena. Your understanding of key metrics to monitor production performance will be key, in order to facilitate improvements, as well your ability to maintain quality standards and provide a safe working environment. A sound grasp on lean manufacturing will be essential in order to raise the bar on what is essentially an environment akin to the automotive industry. Finally, and most importantly you will be a first class people manager who enjoys team building and motivating individuals thereby inspiring them to make the best of themselves and others.
Due to the culture promoted within Pirelli applicants are invited who feel this is a significant step up in responsibility because the development and support to succeed will be readily provided.
