Successful candidates will have direct responsibility for legal and corporate governance issues, as well as the legal affairs of the company's operations, both in Aberdeen and within a worldwide context.
You will be required to provide advice on all aspects of commercial contracts - including supplier, agency, distributor, joint venture and preferred vendor agreements. Providing advice to Contracts Specialists, you will also manage and direct litigation, claims and dispute resolution.
In addition to the advisory aspect of this In-house Counsel role, you will also gain experience within the provisions of legal training and regular seminars which you will be expected to provide to other members of management. You will also monitor new legislation and changes to existing legislation which could affect business operations.
Who we're looking for
Successful candidates appointed to In-house Counsel will possess the following skills:
A proven track record in in-house or private practice with particular emphasis on general commercial matters.
An appropriate licence to practice law in a recognised jurisdiction.
An understanding of US laws and experience with legal affairs in Europe would also be beneficial.
In addition to these skills you should also possess:
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong PC skills and an ability to work in a team orientated environment.
