The Programme Manager will have a track record in leading and managing the setting up of programmes of work through to delivery of the new capabilities and realisation of benefits. The Programme Management role involves proactive interventions and decision making to ensure programmes of work stay on track, with responsibility for co-coordinating and monitoring of programmes in an uncertain environment.
A successful Programme Manager will effectively manage issues, conflicts, priorities, communications and resource. Will have the ability to work positively with the full range of individuals and groups involved in a programme. The role requires the effective co-ordination of the projects and their interdependencies, and any risks and other issues that may arise, and will be crucial in creating and maintaining enthusiasm.
The Programme Manager will carry out a continuous Health Check of the programme reassessing whether projects continue to meet programme objectives and continue to use available funds and resources efficiently. This will require the timely management of exceptions, slippage and conflicting priorities.
Who we're looking for
Responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme, and develops and maintains the programme environment to support each individual projects through the Programme Office function.
You will be responsible for:
• Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
• Defining the Programme's governance framework
• Ensure the integrity of the programme - inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate technical and specialist standards.
• Managing the programmes budget on behalf of the client, monitoring expenditure and costs against benefits that are realised as the programme progresses.
• Facilitating the appointment of individuals to the project delivery teams
• Ensuring the delivery of new products or services from the projects meets requirements and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements.
