Assistant Manager - Risk Assurance Services

An opportunity exists for an Advisor within the Financial Services Information Risk Management (FS IRM) team, a division of this prestigious firm's Risk Assurance Services practice. The people within the department are a mixture of IT professionals, auditors, advisors, accountants and project managers, and the client base covers the whole range of financial service organisations including banking (private, investment and retail), insurance (both life and non-life), investment management, private equity and leasing. Duties will involve -

- Production of IT Advisory deliverables within a client project environment including the development or review of IT strategies and architectures, business and system analysis and supplier selection as well as providing reviews and recommendations on general IT governance and performance issues
- Agreeing the scope of work and individual/team responsibilities with the engagement manager
- Managing smaller engagements, including planning and scoping, resourcing, staff management and reviewing the work of others
- Working in a team on larger, more complex, engagements
- Arranging and attending client engagement meetings, communicating with the client during engagements, carrying out risk and control assessments and preparing reports/memos
- Identifying business development opportunities with clients and bringing these to the attention of the engagement manager
- assisting in the preparation of client proposals
- Setting up and completing working paper files for engagements and delivering these to accepted internal quality control standards.

Who we're looking for
Successful candidates will display a combination of some of the following -
- 3+ years experience of IT business projects/IT Advisory in the Financial Sector. this may be through Big 4 experience or other consultancy, or working directly for a major FS organisation, or outsourced service provider to the industry
- excellent knowledge and experience of Financial Services processes, systems and technologies, with a demonstrable track record in the definition and implementation of IT in this area
- Experience of project management, IT governance, supplier selection and overall IT sourcing strategies. Qualifications such as Prince2 / ITIL would be useful
- Proven track record of working on large and complex IT projects
- Confident communicator at all levels with strong presentation skills
- Ability to identify and assess IT risks and controls
- Able to multi-task and prioritise workload
- Ability to deliver work within tight timescales to a high quality
- Able to work on own initiative, but also a strong team player
- Demonstrable Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Willing and able to work on a wide variety of different engagements in differing roles and locations
