Estimating & Reporting Manager

Provide Estimating / Reporting Support for the Capital Projects Team as directed by the Project Controls Manager (PCM) during the Project Planning, Execution and Turnover Phases.
Prepare Estimate input required for Capital Planning, initial Client Order of Magnitude Estimate (OME) Package, Feasibility Studies, Budget Approval (MAC) development, and confidential Management requests.
Provide Estimating / Reporting support to the GS Project Team as needed.
Development of budgeting processes to streamline internal processes.
Develop Value Engineering Estimates during design to assess alternatives.
Provide Estimating support to Finance Contracts for Bid Preparation/Evaluation and GMP processes, as required, including peer review of bid documentation, scope analysis, and reconciliation of quantities, labour rates, and unit costs.
Maintain OME, Feasibility Study, MAC, and Detailed Estimate logs and files.
Assess all Contractor's Claims for determination of entitlement and potential cost impact, as directed by Cost Control.
Prepare special estimating reports and studies requested by the PCM for Management.
Compile a historical project cost database for use in the generation of future cost estimates.
Establish Unit Price Templates for use in bid packages and for the production of future cost estimates.
Prepare Estimating Project Procedures, as requested by the PCM, for use by Contractors and GS Project Team.
Arrange and attend project cost / estimate related meetings as required.
Manage and supervise the work of Project Controls estimating / reporting personnel.
Co-ordination of financial aspects of Project Controls reporting.
Develop the Project Controls financial reporting strategy and process

Who we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying / Cost Engineering or a related field.
MRICS qualified.
Strong relevant construction estimating experience.
Broad understanding of commercial construction industry practices, a variety of forms of construction contracts, and prime/subcontractor level of cost estimating.
Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office software.
Strong supervisory skills for directing and coordinating staff.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to present information at a management level.
Demonstrate timely decision making skills and ability to self-direct as required.
Communicate appropriately and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate initiative by looking for value-add ideas, approaches, and recommendations, to enhance existing methods and procedures.
Ability to work in a team based environment.
Adapt easily to a dynamic and changing organization.
Demonstrate a willingness to get involved and get the job done.
Excellent people skills as well as the ability to interface with all levels of employees.
Be organized and able to carry a heavy workload
