Transactional Knowledge Management Manager

A truly exceptional opportunity with this leading global firm to play an integral role in the management and ongoing development of the knowledge management function in London and across Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of substantive knowledge resources across Orrick's finance practice in London and will work closely with a team of lawyers and non-lawyers across the firm. The role is to build the quality of the English law knowledge systems in London and requires specific experience in this area.

Specific responsibilities will include:


- Identifying and collating precedent work product and other substantive knowledge sharing resources for the finance practice.

- Providing regular updates on transactional practice legal developments to group lawyers and staff.

- Coordinating the development of knowledge management resources for the London office with similar ongoing efforts across Europe, the US and Asia.

- Working closely with the firm's US based Chief Knowledge Officer to implement the above together with strategic planning for the development of transactional practice group knowledge resources.

- Working closely with the firm's fee-earners in the context of ongoing transactions.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have the following experience/attributes:

• Quality finance (or finance/corporate mix) practice experience in an international practice.

• Excellent academics.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to assess conflicting priorities, manage work efficiently and participate effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Interest in information technology applications used in large law firms and an understanding of how information technology can improve client service and achieve operational efficiencies.

• Results-oriented problem-solving skills.

• Ability to organize and manage a complex workload.
