The Grant Thornton Tax Department comprises a specialised team of tax advisers who offer quality tax planning and compliance advice across the whole range of individual and business tax matters. A wide range of industries are serviced including motor retail, health and legal sectors, building construction, manufacturing, transport and financial services to name a few. In addition specialist advisers provide restructuring, recovery and insolvency services and advice to both the internal recovery and reorganisation department and externally. Outside the Big 4 Grant Thornton are the only advisers to have a credible specialism in this area.
As the Corporate Tax Manager you will act as an assistant/technical adviser to a Tax Partner specialising in recovery and reorganisation and will be a National contact for such technical enquiries.
Main responsibilities include:
• Planning and performing tax consultancy assignments, including tax planning for the sale of companies and assets, and corporate reorganisations.
• Taking steps to minimise professional risk, including appropriate documentation for the services provided, and adequate consultation and review.
• Have a role in marketing, identifying and developing tax saving ideas which are relevant to clients, and working with partners and other managers to promote the Firm's tax expertise to clients and target clients.
• Ensure the efficient and risk managed delivery of post appointment compliance.
• Development of assigned staff.
Who we're looking for
• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CTA or equivalent
• Strong general corporate tax experience
• Proactive in managing own workload
• Sound technical knowledge
• Ability to communicate issues clearly and effectively.
• Able to work under time pressure and make quick judgements
• Develop and maintain a network of both internal and external contacts
• Take an active part in selling and cross selling activities
• Contribute to team direction for achievement of team/office objectives
• Manage multiple projects/assignments
• Insolvency experience and Management experience is desirable but not essential
