Head of Risk Management

Reporting directly into the Chief Executive, the role will cover the whole gamutoftraditional functions and activities associated with a Global Head of Risk Management position, but will principallyfocus on:
- enhancing the company wide framework for measuring, monitoring and evaluating the quantifiable market risks
- ensuring consistency of risk policies across the group
- management and leadership of an expanding risk team
- ensuring implementation of the decisions made by the Risk Management functions
- effectively communicating the risk exposure and maintain the relationships with senior management
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will possess:
-Demonstrable Enterprise Risk Management expertise and flair
• proven risk management experience within a global financial institution
- an extensive understanding of Credit, Market and Operational risks
- the knowledge, expertise and confidence to impose Risk Control as required
- analytical and entrepreneurial skills to observe transactions and quantify wider risks independently
- the ability to liaise closely with senior management
- cultural familiarity with living and conducting business in Emerging Markets, ideally Africa
The successful candidate is likely to be seasoned Risk Management professional, especially well-versed in Credit and Operational Risk matters within international banking who has previously lived or worked in West Africa.

As a result of the rapid and exciting expansion of the Financial Services industry within Nigeria, and with the ongoing support of the senior management, the bank is looking to establish a new Risk Management operation to deal with all aspects of Enterprise Risk Management across the group, including responsibility for its overseas operations. Working in Lagos and reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this is a critical rolecovering Market, Operational and Credit Risk Management in what is achallenging period of growth for the group.
