Updated April 26, 2008
Stones has built a reputation in this specialised market for providing an individual rather than a commoditised conveyancing service. This approach is integral to this high profile role which involves dealing with higher value properties within Exeter and the surrounding towns which will include farms, estates and recreational land in the South West generally.
A knowledge of and a willingness to develop the agricultural part of the role would be an advantage as the Firm has a long tradition of acting for farmers and the rural community generally.
This is an exciting and diverse opportunity as you will be acting for a broad range of landowners who are looking at alternative uses for their land. Your sign of success will be to work with the landowner and other advisers to ensure that maximum value is obtained, advising on the most effective way of promoting the land, including dealing with options, joint ventures and conditional contracts. You will also advise on taxation situations with particular reference to the land-owning community.
Who we're looking for
This role would suit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable solicitor who can provide a bespoke and advisory service on all legal aspects dealing with and attracting high value residential conveyancing. Candidates with previous working knowledge associated with farming and the farming community would be ideally placed to develop this aspect of the business.
