• The Person
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a thorough and accomplished accountancy technical knowledge and be comfortable working with clients at all levels particularly at the corporate SME level. The person will have excellent inter personal and communication skills and will be a career orientated individual who is focused on excellent service standards, performance and results.
• Qualifications and Background
A good academic background;
ACCA or ACA qualified with at least 4 years post qualification experience; and in particular working with limited companies in an Accountancy practice environment.
• Essential Experience/Skills
Accounts preparation for a variety of business organisations;
Audit planning, execution and reporting;
Financial forecasting and modelling - including business planning;
Responding to client needs in a technical support role i.e. VAT, PAYE queries, accountancy issues etc;
A working knowledge of corporate and personal taxation (the firm operates with a Tax Department staffed by qualified Tax Practitioners) in order to understand and consider implications when working with clients;
An ability to manage a small team of staff including scheduling their work, supporting their technical needs and advising and supporting them generally in their duties;
A solid practical knowledge of Sage Line 50 Accounting software;
• Desirable experience/skills (but not essential);
Preparing and submitting grant applications and payment claims (AIG, RSA);
Corporate finance transactions;
Company secretarial matters;
Experience of undertaking tenders including making presentations to prospective clients;
