Design Coordinator

This role is responsible for the tenders from a design point of view ensuring that there is a smooth transition to the site team:

You will be responsible for Tenders 75% to 80 % of time
Reviewing employers requirements identifying
- Outstanding Planning issues .
- Appointment of approved inspectors if needed .
- Making sure design meets with regulations .
- Assessing risk associated with the existing site inc existing services .
- Raising any possible legal issues .
- Working with utilities suppliers to ensure adequate load provision .
- Assessing Design implications of sustainability requirements .
- Working with designers relative to any MMC suggestions .
- Engage with any supply chain members .
- Work with Planners to produce IRS requirements .
- Lead design team in 2 stage tenders .Chair meetings & action as required .
- Put together contractors proposals .
- Consultants appointments / novations .
- Set up drawing register & protocols .

On site ( visiting role to ensure smooth transition ) 25% to 20 % of time
- Set up & Chair meetings
- Set up drawing register & controls
- Monitor IRS
- Ensure Planning conditions are addressed .
- Involve CDM co-ordinator in design process
- Ensure team is aware of Building regulation requirements .

Who we're looking for
Successful candidates will ideally have recent relevant experience within a similar role, be a real team player and focussed on a long term career.
Consideration will be given to applications from Construction planners or Quantity Surveyors looking for a change in career.
